HON KEN AGYAPONG IS EMINENTLY QUALIFIED TO BE ELECTED FLAG BEARER OF NPP – OSEI KYEI-MENSAH BONSU.

The Majority Leader of Ghana’s parliament and Member of Parliament for Suame constituency in the Ashanti region, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu has endorsed the candidacy of Hon Kennedy Akonpreko Agyepong as flag bearer aspirant for the party’s internal elections for the choice of a flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.

Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsu made the endorsement on Sunday 14th May 2023 in Suame during an interaction between Hon Kennedy Agyepong and NPP delegates in the Suame constituency on his listening tour of the Ashanti region. The Majority leader extolled the sterling qualities of Hon Ken Agyepong as an experienced lawmaker and several selfless gestures of philanthropy that have touched every ‘nook and cranny’ of the NPP party.
He made a particular reference to the financial support of Hon Ken Agyepong in excess of GHS200,000 towards the construction of a school in the Suame constituency. According to the majority leader, this was just a microcosm of the hugely philanthropic support of Hon Ken Agyepong to several constituencies in Ghana including Suame.

From his over 24 years experience as a legislator having traveled wide and seen some of the best practices in the best democracies in the world, Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsu referred to the ‘unwritten’ criteria for the election of party flag bearers in the United States as one of the best precedents. According to the experienced legislator, in the United States, as a rule of practice, flag bearers are chosen from four (4) categories of persons. They are 1. Senators (lawmakers); 2. Governors; 3. Vice-Presidents; and 4. Businessmen.

From the erudite submissions of the Hon majority leader, Hon Ken Agyepong eminently qualifies to be flag bearer of the NPP for the 2024 presidential election because he is the only aspirant who fulfills two (2) out of the four (4) criteria for eligibility as he is the ONLY aspirant who is both lawmaker and business man. He comes to the competition with a proven track record of over 20 years under his belt as the Member of parliament for Assin central. In that office, he has left indelible foot prints in the sands of time for his contributions to the constituency in education, infrastructure, electricity, roads, housing, water and tourism, just to mention a few. Hon Ken Agyepong has cut his teeth as a successful business man having created over 7000 jobs for the youth of this country. He has established commercial farms sitting on hundreds of hectares of land, built the biggest cold store in Ghana and started the construction of the biggest steel factory in Ghana. This is in addition to his well known media houses, trading concerns and enterprises in Ghana.

Hon Ken Agyepong is unique in a special
