SPECIAL CANDIDATES ARE FOR SPECIAL TIMES: HON. KENNEDY AGYAPONG – THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR ELECTION 2024

Honourable Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency and the flagbearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is the candidate tipped by many to be the best to break the 8 as planned by the NPP. The MP is said to possess all the needed qualities, skills and acumen to deliver the seat to the party with ease. And as was opined by the Majority leader of our current Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, Hon Ken possess the two major qualities as normally approved by developed countries like United State – Astute politician/law maker and Businessman- making him a unique candidate for the contest.

The honourable member, is now receiving attacks because of his triumphant entry into the race. He seems to have come into the race very late, since he had not shown any interest in the presidential slot. However, when he decided to join the race, the love for him keeps on increasing every day. And this genuine love is not new, because the party and Ghanaians love the man already. He is loved for being truthful at all time, and speaks truth to the party’s leadership without fear nor favour especially when it is about the grassroots or foot soldiers.

The party delegates are even loving him the more because they have heard his plans or policies which are doable and hence have bought into it. On his campaign tours, the MP keeps reminding the delegates of the fact that he is from a very poor background and hence knows much about what people of such backgrounds feel. And it is upon this that has made him shown love and passion to the grassroots or foot soldiers for all these years he joined the party.

The Flagbearer hopeful, has also indicated that since the grassroots are the major stakeholders, his fight for them was not and still isn’t a misplaced priority. On this background, he has planned to give the grassroots that hope to believe in him to be on their side even after he becomes the commander-in-chief.

No flagbearer hopeful knows how it takes to pay even 1000 workers from their own account. But he is currently managing the finances of not less than 7000 Ghanaians, and still counting. He knows the pain, stress and agony workers go through in extending the meager pay the get to their unemployed family members. Premise on that, he believes and passionate about creating as many jobs as possible, when given the chance. He hopes to use his Mechanized Agriculture, industrialization and tourism policies to do that. He believes, unemployment rate has been reduced by the Akufo Addo led government but it will further be reduced to an extremely low level, should the delegates give him the presidential slot.

Akompreko, as Ghanaians know him, has shown a lot of seriousness and delivered perfectly in every portfolio he has occupied in the country. As a new entrant in the political space, the young man took an NDC seat and turned it into no go area for the NDC. The MP kept faithful with his constituents to the level that, he could be loaned to the national level to tour across the length and breath of the country to campaign for the party without thinking about his own seat or his own campaign in his constituency. Every party member will attest to this especially in 2012, and 2016 when the party was struggling in opposition and wanted to win power from the NDC.

Aside protecting his seat till date, he was also very instrumental to the NPP agenda whenever it comes to Parliamentary debates. His commitment and contributions in Parliament have always been unwavering. It is that which has made him a better asset being used by the NPP government to lead committees which are very vital. Being a committee chair to interior and defence is never a mean job. It takes someone who could keep secret and is security conscious to handle such portfolio. Being given such portfolios at a time where the security issues in the country was shaky, shows how strong he is. And he has delivered perfectly. Moreover, he never threw his hands in the air and began to blame others but worked with his team and ministers in charge to deliver.

Kennedy is by far the best candidate to break the 8 hence the delegates are respectfully charged to support him. So that, as he has delivered in all the portfolios handed unto him by the party, he will deliver now too.
